About
Butch began DJ'ing in 1976 after graduating to make money for college. He worked for or with others until 1989 when he bought out his business partner. Since that time, he has played all over North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and even Nassau, Bahamas for all types of events including but not limited to weddings, class reunions, birthdays, holiday parties, anniversaries, pool parties, grand openings, holiday sales events and others, playing music from the 1940's to today's hits in various genres. He has served as the DJ & MC for numerous events such as The Lost In Paradise Beach Blast I & II, Little Redd of The Tams Anniversary Cruise on Carnival Cruise Line, NC Cotton Festival, Music on Madison Beach Music Festival, Arbor Day Festival in Norwood, NC, The Americana Tour featuring Gospel Music's Award Winners, The Dove Brothers w/ The Carolina Soul Band, Boogie on Broad Concert Series for several years until it ended. In 1989 Butch also began a parttime career in radio as the host of The Carolina Sounds Beach Show. Today the show is heard on thirteen radio & internet stations in six states. Locally, you can tune in Saturdays from 3:00pm - 6:00pm on WPYB 1130AM. In 2010, what was supposed to be a one-time thing, Butch put together a makeshift "Elvis Outfit" to sing for an event at a local nursing home. That began Blue Suede Memories, Tribute to Elvis Presley Show that he has performed all over NC and into SC, singing the hits and lesser-known songs of "The King of Rock & Roll" in period attire. Yes, scarves are also given out to some of the ladies at these shows.
